Computer vision is the process of taking an image and extracting useful information from it. Facial recognition systems are obvious examples but we’re also using these ideas for security systems, infrastructure maintenance and other real-world challenges.
We’re looking at challenges such as varying, uncontrolled imaging conditions and specialist 3D applications, where solutions currently require human intervention due to their complexity.
Our challenge for the future is to adapt computer vision technology for imaging environments that are unconstrained, extending the applications of this evolving technology.
