Introducing … Pete Rodgers
Pete is a software engineer who joined the team from the University of Bradford in 2010.
Key skills and interests
Pete has developed his talent for software engineering at Createc and has added significant expertise in radiological mapping, nuclear physics and robotics to his skills. He describes the technical interest of the work as being about collecting information to enable better decision-making in crucial and challenging environments.
Current innovation focus
Pete has been a Project Manager in the RISER UAV project with Blue Bear, developing this indoor mapping tool and its unique approach to location and spatial awareness.
What inspires me about being part of Createc
“We’re working on problems where solutions will have real value. There really is an element of making a difference and helping the world when your work is relevant to security, defence, nuclear clean up or sustainable energy. There are risks associated with being cutting edge but great satisfaction in being part of a significant innovation too.”
Pete is unusual in having joined Createc as a fairly new graduate. His expertise was recognised at that early stage and he has made valuable contributions to several important Createc projects.
“Pete’s experience of constant challenge and career development is typical for those joining the company in whatever role and reflects the Createc approach to seeing things differently.” Matt Mellor
